Audra Bayette | Brooksby Farm Wedding at Smith Barn

Friday, October 1st, 2010

This beautiful barn wedding photographed by Audra Bayette has such great details.  One of my favorites?  The pies!  I love the idea of having pies instead of a wedding cake – especially for a barn wedding.  The homestyle atmosphere was perfect for the barn venue, and from the looks of it, it seems like every single person had a blast!  The homemade koozies and the apple butter favors/name cards are so awesome.  I love how the favors double as name cards … DIY, money-saver, and super adorable.  And if you scroll down to the very bottom … you will find the most adorable part : ) three little kiddies with fake mustaches and boas, having fun playing dress-up in the photo booth!   Check out the gorgeous photographs below and see the full wedding on Audra Bayette’s blog!

Orchard Cove Photography | A Preppy Meets Rustic Wedding

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

Avery and Ben’s wedding was a J. Crew meets Lily Pulitzer meets a more rustic, cozy style.  All of the elements came together so nicely, and the attire was Adorable with a capital A.  Also, the brides hair was like, miles long of gorgeousness and her up-do was so fitting!  I love all of the twists.  And while we’re still on the subject of attire – check out the groom’s tie .. yes .. that is a tequila shot tie.  LOVE IT.  I’ve never seen anything like it … props for finding that one, groom.  There were also two adorable lab pups that were involved in the wedding festivities and they seemed to enjoy themselves quite nicely!  Check out this beautiful wedding photographed by Orchard Cove Photography below and see the full wedding as featured on Orchard Cove Photography’s blog.

Relive Photography | Stonewall Farm Wedding

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Vintage and farms …. LOVE IT.  Two styles that seamlessly go together in this beautiful wedding.  The bride’s red shoes are killer and the grooms adidas are totally what my brother is wearing at his wedding .. this is a good thing, I’m liking that style a lot.  I love the casual style and the romantic barn setting.  Also, how cute is it that the bride and groom incorporate the farm animals into their photography!  Brave.  I might have a slight fear of birds/poultry.  But the photographs are just stunning and Relive Photography did an amazing job at capturing all of the moments, even the animals and the jumping shots – who knew jumping shots could actually look that fun!   I think the sillier you jump, the better the photograph.  Check out the wedding below and see the full feature on Relive Photography’s blog!

Diana Ma Weddings | Real Wedding

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

Dogs, dessert buffet’s, and DIY photo booths.  3 things on my oh-goodness-i-love-this list … and when incorporated into a wedding, even more love.  This couple is SO unbelievably adorable, especially when the bride is rockin the gigantic mustache.  The groom looks very happy to see his bride for the first time … gotta love that first glance look in any grooms eyes.  Also, those whoopie pies … what is there even to say except i would eat endless whoopie pies for the rest of my life if i had the option and a permanent model body.  Mmm, deliciousness!  All of this loveliness was planned by Diana Ma Weddings & Events.  Check out the full featured wedding on Diana Ma’s blog!

The Proposal | Ned Jackson Photography

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Ned Jackson Photography captured this amazing proposal at the Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier.  Brian, the propose-er, had gotten in touch with Ned about his idea to propose to propose-ee, Martha, while Ned hid out amongst the crowd, capturing the details as the proposal unfolded.  Ned, despite his six-foot-four-ness, remained hidden and unseen by Martha.  What a perfect way to capture an engagement session while the emotions are truly fresh and genuine.  Also … Brian proposed to Martha’s daughter that day as well … with a ring pop.  I love that!  Two girls, two rings, and a happy happy man = a very special day.  Congratulations!  See the full story and slideshow on Ned Jackson’s blog!

Congratulations to Brian and Martha!

An Alyson’s Orchard Wedding | Kendal J. Bush Photography

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

This beautiful wedding took place on the ever-s0-lovely Alyson’s Orchard.  The beautiful grounds are a perfect backdrop to any wedding, the trees, the water, and the paths – can’t you just imagine yourself breathing in that crisp air!  This is one of the many reasons why i love New England … the amazing hills and trees and fresh air.  What a perfect quintessential New England venue.

The wedding was photographed by Kendal J. Bush Photography and the end results were stunning!  I love the elegant decor and the soft pink and white bridal bouquet, although my absolute fav. shot is the last one.  The couple kissing on the broken dock is so romantic!  A little Notebook-esque i think.  Take a look at some of the photos from this beautiful orchard wedding and visit Kendal J Bush Photography to view the full wedding.

Ben and Scott Get Married!

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Okay so remember how a little while ago we posted an adorable engagement session filled with love and typewriters by Alexandra Roberts Photography?  Well, Ben and Scott, the engaged couple in the previous post, got married!  I was so siked when i found this on Alex’s blog … i love this couples style.  There was an intimate ceremony, in which they read from The Great Gatsby.

{a.y}

The couple included a few of their amazing typewriters from their collection into the wedding as well.  Instead of having a traditional guest book, the typewriters were there to have guests type notes on pieces of personalized paper.  I love this idea!  Way to incorporate your style, guys .. very cool.  Also, instead of having a wedding cake made for them – they decided to make their own!  I lovveeee diy-ers with a huge passion.  Especially being so bold as to make your own wedding cakes!  They made little carrot cakes, with little pecans on top, and had pints of ben and jerry’s for guests to choose from … oh.my.gosh., delish!  B&J’s is a life staple of mine.  A flavor for any mood : )

Hope you enjoyed this amazing wedding by Alexandra Roberts Photography … visit her blog to see the full wedding!

The Importance of Beauty Consultations and Trial Runs | Hair That Moves

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Ever have those re-occuring nightmares where you wake up on your wedding day and everything is awry, your maid of honor is your worst enemy, your dress is ripped to shreds and got thrown in the wash with something bright red, and your hair is a frizzled frazzled unthinkable mess?  Well, i hope none of these nightmares happen to any of you, but in case you would like to be more at ease (at least in the hair department), this expert advice article will do the trick!  Consultations and trial hair appointments are such an important part of putting the stress of hair issues behind you for the wedding day.  Lena Hartford, of Hair That Moves, wrote this great expert advice article explaining the basics and importance of consultations.  Check it out below and visit Hair That Moves on my Kate Parker Wedding.

Consultations and Trial Runs

The most important part of choosing a style comes at your consultation. This appointment includes talking about these details and asking a professional for their take on what may work for each situation. For instance, a style that is not secure to withstand the windy elements of a beachside ceremony may not be a good choice.

Other things to consider when choosing a style is the overall feel of the wedding, the ceremony location, the types of weather you could run into, dress style, and most importantly, what you are wearing in your hair. Some styles will hold a heavy veil or big décor better than others.

I recommend bringing pictures of styles or parts of styles that you like and dislike. This allows me to get a clear vision of your desired outcome.

Once you are able to choose an overall look, you will start creating this style. Sometimes, brides are uncertain about what looks best. In this case, I find it important to try several different looks so you are able to see how you look and feel in each one.

I allow 1-2 hours for a trial. Your vision for the day needs to be the most important part of this. Once you find it, you will know.

I always need my brides to “love” their look. After creating this style together, I draw diagrams and take notes and photos so I can recreate this look on the day of the wedding.

Kiss and Tell Boudoir | Photography by Linda

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

How incredibly awesome is boudoir?  I am so into the boudoir world lately.  Should I admit that I have been wanting to have a Lady Gaga inspired boudoir shoot myself?  Maybe.

Boudoir shoots can be sexy, sultry, cute, fun, and really can be personalized for everyone!  I think it’s such a great way to boost your confidence (this goes for dude-oirs too, to all you fine gent’s out there) and also a great way to have fun and try something new that may be just outside your comfort level.  A new way for gals to spice up their boudoir shoots is to have a little “pin-up party” with their girlfriends, particularly bridesmaids, maybe before our in lieu of their bachelorette party!  This, to me, sounds like a perfect little girls night out.  Grab a bottle of wine, put on some sexy lingerie, pose like your Brigitte Bardot or Miranda Kerr and then maybe hit the town for a night out!  Well if you are thinking that boudoir is the perfect bachelorette party for you … or you just would love to get dolled up for a day for yourself, check this out!  Photography by Linda and Allison Hope Photography have teamed up to create a Boudoir Marathon day on August 15th!  And if a marathon boudoir event isn’t exiting enough, they are offering a 10% discount to our readers!  Now how fab is that?  See below for the details …
