A Sugary Sweet Wedding from Nothing Bakes Like A Parrott

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

This past weekend I had the pleasure of created two fantastic tables for a lovely bride Julie.  I was absolutely thrilled to have be able to do both a dessert table and a candy buffet because they are two of my most favorite things to do!  Julie worked extremely hard finding and ordering all the candy for the table (she is my type of woman… lots and LOTS of candy!!) and I designed the set up for it.  The candy included everything from sour balls, to gum balls, lollipops, rock candy, and Hershey’s chocolate bars.  For the dessert table Julie decided to stick to four different types of desserts – including hand dipped and painted Brides and Grooms chocolate strawberries, chocolate dipped brownie pops, Red Sox sugar cookies and cheesecake bites with blueberry sauce, chocolate sauce, or strawberry sauce.

Everything came out fantastic!!

SERIOUSLY- how cute are these?!?! So appropriate for the New England Wedding Blog! KP

New England Wedding Cake Inspiration

Monday, June 28th, 2010

Okay, how delicious is this post!  We put together some New England wedding cake inspiration to satisfy our sweet tooth on this semi-cloudy Monday morning.  All of the cakes below are by our fabulous New England wedding vendors.  All of their hard work and creativity goes into producing these amazing cakes, which in the end, get eaten by hungry guests.  But, during the few hours that these cakes are on display … the details and hard work that are put into each cake shine through and the vendors get their well deserved recognition … oooh’s and ahh’s pop quickly into mind!  These New England cakes reflect the nautical, classy, woodsy, and elegant atmospheres that New England offers.

Modern Cookies from Cookie Creatives by Jennifer

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

Finally, a post about new cookies!!  I made these modern engagement cookies back at the end of May for an engagement party.  The couple’s wedding colors are dark purple, copper, and ivory which was an interesting color combination and one that seems both classic and modern at the same time.  To get the copper color I used a light copper colored frosting and hand painted the lines with bronze luster dust.  It’s not completely apparent from these pictures, but after the cookies were packaged and when the sunlight hit the copper lines they glistened, much like real copper.  I loved the effect of something shimmery to catch your eye without the whole cookie being excessivly sparkly!  I think that it added to the elegance while the clean lines kept everything feeling fresh and modern.
